James Heddon & Son's. Spooks/Plastics.

Heddon was one of the first major companies to work with plastics on a major scale. Starting with materials like Pyralin, and Bakelite, and then working with Tenite, both Tenite 1 which was very unstable and Tenite 2 which is what most spooks today are made of. The Spooks are what set Heddon on a path to success in a big way, lures like the Basser Spook and Vamp Spook. But the biggest part of this can be traced back to the famous River Runt Spook. The success of the River Runt Spook took Heddon to World famous status. Heddon soon started making Spook versions of their famous Punkinseed lures, along with the Crazy Crawler and the amazing Meadow Mouse. The Tadpolly also changed to Tenite and became the Tadpolly Spook, also the Wounded Spook, the variety is almost endless. The biggest thing about the Spooks is the nearly endless variety of colors out there to collect. Some with no eyes, some with gold eyes the list is vast and the collecting fun. Some collectors dedicate their entire collections to just spooks, some just one variety of spook. Here we like to collect all things Heddon that catch our eye and Spooks are certainly among them. With a variety of boxes and lures collecting Heddon lures is fun and satisfying.  A vintage fishing lure collection can not be complete without several old Heddon lures in it. With timeless style, legend & quality, Heddon fishing lures are a must in any collection.
