Froglegs, were first introduced as a product from Modern Sporting Goods from Austin Texas, in the late 1940's post war. Later changing their name to Jenson Distributing and moving to Waco Texas. Froglegs that come in the two piece cardboard boxes are highly sought after lures, and those that come with the early Modern Sporting Goods boxes with the cartoon graphics are even more sought after. We are happy to have some of these and others on the way, as we build our collection of these amazing mechanical frogs. They came in a surface model series 104 and subsurface model series 204 in weedless and treble versions. They came in six colors, and considered among the best frog baits ever. They actually caught fish and became a favorite for many anglers searching for Largemouth Bass. Listed in the Field & Stream top 30 lures to collect because of the great ability of the lure but also for the creative artwork on the packaging. Froglegs are one of our favorite frog lures to collect due to the variations in colors, sizes and boxes, we are always looking for great pieces to add to our collection.

This Froglegs lure is the 204T Yellow version with the early cartoon box. This early Modern Sporting goods cardboard boxed version dates to the late 1940's. Jenson Frogs were available in Plastic boxes in the 1950's these lures are always a fun add to any collection, and a great conversation starter. Early cartoon boxes are out there to be collected. This Jenson Froglegs lure is the 204 T Light Green version. We have preserved a great lure in great condition, this early cardboard boxed version dates to the late 1940's. This frog was in on some fishing but still in fair shape, If you look close you can see where the weight for this sinking model is placed on the back of the frog. This one would go deep to stir up the Hogs!
