Miscellaneous Vintage Fishing Lures.

We have a taste of several different companies like The Mercoy Tackle Company of Grosse Point, Michigan, who first introduced the Mercury Minnow fishing lure in 1949. The Mercury minnow is just that, it’s call to fame coming from the ball of Mercury that rolls around inside the lure, creating a wobble action when it’s retrieved, coming with the slogan “It act’s alive”. C.C. Roberts rare Mud Puppy lures.  Early Gibbs tool and Stamping works, with our early Gibbs Martin Salmon Plug. We will set up some of our unboxed lures here also as we get them photographed.

​Early 1940’s C.C Roberts Little Mud Puppy in Sucker Finish. This lure is a more rare, uncommon one as it has painted eyes and the factory WWII wire wrapped hooks and an early correct picture box which is one of the more uncommon boxes.

This Early Mercury Minnow is the Perch color lure complete with the hard to come by early silver box and paperwork. We are on the look out for an orange Mercury Minnow also. If you have an orange version you would like to trade please contact us.

This Naturalure is a special one because it was given to us by Gary Love Sr. My dad, he was given this lure in California by his Dad who purchased this lure at a local tackle shop. Naturalure Bait Co. from Pasadena California, great Life like Lures. The fins become soft and life like when in water.

The Kick-N-Kackle in Frog color, these were made by Orchard Industries in the great state of Michigan. (SOLD)

L&S Mira-Lure dates to the 1950's this model No. 00M23 has a great color range #23 and is a deadly bait for Walleye and Bass. This bait was crafted in the Clearwater Florida factory. (SOLD)

L&S Panfish Sinker dates to the early 1950's this model Panfish Sinker has a great color range No. 11 Silver Scale. This bait was crafted in the Illinois factory. 

Founder Frank Edgar's Son William, went to the effort to get the original tools working to hand craft these limited edition lures. (SOLD)

This amazing condition Lucky Strike Muskie Plug is a #2004. We sold this lure to a collector in Canada in 2022. (SOLD)

This Lucky Strike Submarine is a #3502 Red & White, It  has gold eyes. This one was given to us by Joe Makarowski. Joe bought this lure new in the 1946 sometime after WWII. One of his favorite lures Joe filled it with Mercury to make it dive deep. Joe gave it to Gary in 1999 to preserve it and save it. This lure was in on a lot of fishing, and has a great story beyond what we've posted here.

​Early 1940’s C.C Roberts Standard Size Mud Puppy in Sucker Finish grading EX+ Unfished well preserved WWII Lure. This lure is a more rare, uncommon one as it has painted eyes and the factory WWII wire wrapped soldered hooks. A Fantastic piece of History.

This is a great lure, this one comes from the Gibbs Tool & Stamping works in Vancouver B.C. With a rare early double label box & with a Silver Scale Salmon Plug in 41/2 inches. This is an early Gibbs Martin Salmon Plug in correct box. (SOLD)

The Spinno Minno series 500 in Frog color. Produced by Pecos River Tackle Company of Carlsbad, New Mexico, founded in 1944. These cool bass lures feature an aluminum disk inside to provide action to the lure. These are a favorite among collectors. (SOLD)

DAM German Made Brown Mouse, these versions of mice are very very good, DAM did a fantastic job on their mouse imitation. Flocked fur and leather ears these lures are high quality vintage collector masterpieces.

L&S PikeMaster dates to the early 1950's this model PikeMaster has a great color range Silver Flitter. This bait was crafted in the Illinois factory. 

Shurkatch Baits No. 80 Jointed Minnow in RH color code Red Head. This lure is 4 1/4 inches long has the one piece Shurkatch lip and hook hanger. Shurkatch Baits was located in Richfield Springs New York and produced lures from the 1920's into the 1950's. Many Shurkatch lures are often confused with other brands like Paw Paw, Arnold, South Bend, Meadowbrook and Shur-Strike. Getting the correct length and checking the hardware are key to getting the ID on a Shurkatch. Many were sold on dealer cards which were located on the counter top of tackle shops, with multiple various lures on the card to be picked from.

This amazing condition Lucky Strike Muskie Plug is a #2021 Yellow Perch. It  has tack eyes and was never used. This one was given to me by my Dad Gary Love Sr. Dad said he never used this lure. Because he was too busy field testing my Jackfish Lures Spinners.
